We're two ladies in love from Ohio. And this is our journey to our Fall 2012 Wedding!
So, we are nearing our 12 months
That’s a technical 12 months as I’ve mentioned before. We’ve been on and off for about 2 yrs. So here’s the deal, we agreed that I would tell my family that we’re getting married at twelve months.
Which is in August.
And I’ll be honest people, I have no idea how to even approach the situation. Either way they’re gonna be mad and we’ll probably end up arguing about it. I’m just at a loss for how to get it to go as smoothly as possible. My parents are good people, I just feel like they never really took me being Gay seriously until I got with Sally so they are still trying to adjust to the idea.
It scares me to think of getting married without my Mother being there. It scares me to think of her doing anything but being positively thrilled for me.
How did you all break it to your families?

Let me just say
Tonight I was feeling really down on myself. I have anxiety, you see and I’m currently not in treatment. I felt really unattractive and insecure and I locked myself in the bathroom. When I came out I saw Sally was writing me a note on her notepad. She said she was going to slip them under the door to me. When I didn’t say anything back she decided to keep writing and handed me note after note. The things that girl can say to me. It made me remember why I asked her to marry me in the first place. I hope everyone can be as lucky as to find someone the way me and Sally found each other. I’m just feeling so in love and elated right now. It really is wonderful.
So far Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable” is my top contender for a wedding song!

Update
Sorry for the lack of posts in the past week or so. I’ve been in and out of town and Sally has been finishing up her final projects for school. Things have been going well for the most part with us. Memorial Day weekend meant me getting to debut Sally to my folks. And I got to spend some time with Sally’s parents as well. We also just celebrated our 9 month. (That’s technically speaking. We’ve really been on and off for two years now) but it’s still exciting because we’ve agreed at 12 months to tell our families we’re engaged!
